I debated getting a photo taken with Santa this year. I knew E would scream his head off, which would be funny to look back on, but I also wanted a family photo with Santa. And did we really have to brave the mall?
Thankfully, our wonderful realtor sent us an invitation to visit with a Santa at a special event for her firm's clients.
I got E dressed up in his festive holiday wear and took some photos before we left the house, just in case we didn't get anything with Santa.
The Santa we went to see was so wonderful. He was very quiet and gentle, and he really looked like Santa!
The result isn't bad!
While we were out in the Christmas spirit, we decided we would introduce E to the Peabody ducks. Before E, Chris and I always went to the Peabody for a Christmas cocktail. This visit with E didn't involve a cocktail sadly, but it was full of "WHOAH" and pointing and squealing. E couldn't believe there were ducks, right there in front of him, and they could only get so far away. It was hilarious and magical.
We made a rookie parent mistake and took E to the ducks before seeing the tree. As we learned, once you know there are live ducks almost in your reach, you will have nothing to do with taking photos in front of a huge, beautiful tree. Now we know.
I was a bit sadden by this, so I asked Chris to try for a photo with me and E outside as we were leaving.
Much better at least.
Then I offered to get one of Chris and E.
Yep. He wins!
